For targeting large pelagic fish from shore, the ideal rod design has always been the detachable-grip construction found in the Back Upper series. We take pride in the fact that it has never
received a single report of breakage, proving its exceptional reliability and strength.
However, due to its longer closed length, convenience during travel and vehicle transportation has always been a challenge.
Yuki Inoue set out to redefine the limits of two-piece rod construction by developing a shore casting rod that delivers breaking strength as close as possible to the Back Upper series while
maintaining the portability of a true two-piece design.
The answer was a hybrid blank construction utilizing 15t and 24t carbon materials. The result is a rod that achieves approximately 95% of the Back Upper series' breaking strength while offering
equivalent casting performance, lure control, and fish-fighting capability.
